Primary Job Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities of the Groundskeeper are to ensure the grounds and common areas of the community are clean at all times. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Remove litter and debris from all areas of the community at the beginning of each day, checking for cleanliness throughout the day. Areas included are: pool and pool area, spa, laundry, dumpster areas, recreation areas, grounds, walkways to/from/in between buildings, sweep curbs.
  • Remove abandoned furniture, trash, and boxes from vacated apartments.
  • Assist with various physical tasks as directed, (i.e., tearing down fences, digging trenches).
  • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of storage rooms.
  • Distribute resident communications as directed.
  • Be aware of all utility cutoffs, sewer clean-outs.
  • Move appliances, equipment, furniture, etc. as requested
  • Repair and adjust sprinklers, pull weeds, clean ponds, trim trees and shrubs.
  • Wear required uniform and maintain an appropriate appearance.
  • Comply with all local/state laws and follow the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures/guidelines including compliance with OSHA requirements.
  • To occasionally assist other employees in any apartment management functions.

Qualifications:   Practical experience required: at least three months as groundskeeper. Must speak and write English well enough to understand directions.
